Genius Kiddos is a place for all to feel welcomed and build a community of hope

As students line up to enter Genius Kiddos tutoring center in Palos Hills on the south side of Chicago, they are greeted by teachers with a “Salam Alakkum.” One by one they walk up the stairs to the second floor of the building to line up for Duhur prayer and head to class.

Genius Kiddos located at 11018 Southwest Highway, opened in 2017 by an all Middle Eastern women staff. The center aims to help give an affordable education for those who need it. The center offers help with all subject tutoring, one on one tutoring, citizenship testing help and more.

A poll by Gallup states that with an increase is division in the United States after the 2016 election of Donald Trump, 77 percent of Americans believe the U.S. is divided more than ever.

The all Middle Eastern women staff work to ensure the safety and sense of community for children, teens and young adults in the Palos Hills area. I spoke with the staff and parents below on what they say is a community of safety and friendship within their walls.
